In the Knitted Garden

We are at present trying to gather enough funding for a second show garden to be constructed for Gardening Scotland.  This garden is designed by Susan White who says of her design
-'Many plants yield fibres; used for centuries in textiles.  I want to highlight some of these plants, and to explore and celebrate weaving and knitting as an Art form in a garden context."

In The Knitted Garden, the weaving and knitting have gone beyond craft status and ascended into “Art in The Garden”

A Dead Tree forms the Centrepiece of the garden.

 It is covered with crochet and knitting “Yarn Bombing” style.

The tree is reborn and lives on in another life as a piece of Art.

I have chosen chain-Link fencing as a boundary in the design.

 I think chain link looks like knitted wire and have woven into the fence  panel a unique design.

The once functional and mundane is transformed and is to be admired!
